I’m not high. I don’t feel high. Guys, I am absolutely honest-to-Gus, not high. Did you just say How Dank is Your Love , Rufus? Is that a Bee Gees song? Jeez, I hated that band. Famed Writer Forgets Own Famous Work on Cannamnesia In a ceremony at times both heartwarming and heartbreaking, this year's Bowlitzer prize reception ended with a Lifetime

Acheefment Award honoring retired jour- nalist Ginger Hynes, who doesn’t remember writing his own piece due the very ailment he documented: Cannamnesia. Hynes was recognized for his extensive work covering widespread memory loss due to strong THC. Starting in the late 90’s, he produced a venerable library of articles doc- umenting the aiction, spanning a decade of research. It wasn't long aer publishing a nal report that he held the now-infamous press conference to announce his own Cannamnesia diagnosis--a day he no longer remembers. Hynes was asked to stand and read a passage from his most famous piece, "Why Can't I Find the Door Knob," which itself won a Bowlitzer in 1999. e article brought rst national exposure to the issue and followed ve cheefers through their daily routines at a time when aected rates were starting to soar. Hynes’ further investiga- tion revealed that about 5 in 6 suer from zapped memory while blazed, while the other 1 in 6 is already sleeping. ere wasn’t a dry red-eye in the crowd as he read the words as if seeing them for the rst time. His voice slowed as he came to the description of the ailment, then paused briey, perhaps in quiet reection, maybe realizing that he too had forgotten some- thing, or perhaps because he was suering a are-up of symptoms from the Durban- packed stogie in his ngers. It was at that penultimate moment in the ceremony, when his own order of cheese RESINVILLE - Mel Pheezance, CEO of embattled illegal secrets company, Gri & Gra , has vowed to get to the bottom of the now-infamous "Fraudcom" asco in which someone, allegedly impersonating

Aerward, several of those in attendance attempted to relate their own stories, although recollection was, on a whole, dif- cult due to the hash-covered fruit platters and ganja ganache hors d'oeuvres going around. Still, for those who could muster the memory, celebrating the journalist in person oered some closure, even if he had completely spaced out. “When it rst came out, these articles touched so many lives because people nally had a word to describe what was happening to them,” con- cluded event host, Clara Barnes. “We’re all fortunate to have such a dedicated reporter with us tonight, to thank him in person and watch him stare at the ceiling for a prolonged period of time.” Pheezance, signed o on a major corruption package worth zillions of dollars. Cannatown moves ahead with plan to purchase Greenland Cannatown News

I n an unexpected move, Cannatown city council proceeded forward with their plan to purchase Greenland for a minimal premium. An independent commission concluded their presentation Tuesday night prior to a vote, urging an immediate response to the Kingdom of Denmark’s Craigslist posting. “With all this talk, we down at city hall nally looked it up,” reported commission co-chair Wenda Ganjerson. “And the coun- try of Greenland was surprisingly within budget.” Despite early criticism

By Wednesday aer- noon, money had already been sent o, and if all goes according to the commission’s plan, Cannatown will assume full legal rights to Greenland as of next week. Denmark, however, did not respond to inquiries, and has reportedly not sent any ocial paperwork back. Meanwhile, the colloquial Greenland response has been mum too, as people and businesses have

Harold Gort, councilman, voiced excite- ment about the opportunities for further growth. “We’ve already talked about putting a few coastal disc golf courses near Myggbukta and Qeqertarsuatsiaat.” Members also discussed a possible Fjord- sledding competition, and holidays on the illustrious Disko Island. “Really, this is some of the most beautiful, uninhabitable land on earth,” Gort told attendees. ose listening shared their own mixed feelings on the subject. Son, now that you're of age, it's time we had a little talk about the nugs we smake in this family. You may never see me bring home a cup strain much less one of them live resins. But I want you to be proud of who you are and what you smake. And appreciate it, consarnit. Times may be tough. But think of the rough uncured, barely-owered meal-grain bud your grandpa smaked. We're roasting better nugs now, we all are. And we need to recognize. I know, you and your friends all have a dream of bottomless wax and rosin recep- tacles, and stogies full of hash and bong bowls packed to the brim carelessly with keef while the sounds of summer endure. But do you ever stop and wonder, for a moment, what kind of toils and terror your grandfather would go through to procure or grow his own satchels? Has he ever told you about collecting tiny leaf aer tiny leaf from his shag divan in the parlor, whilst pretending to look for a missing cu link? He had a knack for nding any and every method of extracting noids, methods you wouldn’t believe. Your grandpa would bend any wires or paperclips within arm’s reach and toil for hours! And for what? All for the most measly wad of resin, to lay on a bed of moldy steems from under the bureau. Steems! Can you imagine the horror? Imagine this day in age, sitting for an hour in a KMart parking lot, never know-

Nobody remem- bers all the times your grandfather tried desperately to root the beans he found in his ditchweed, growing them in old cracked ower pots and yard buckets behind the barn. And sixty days down in the county jail for mere possession of a crummert ! Mark my words, as he told me, and I tell you now, we work hard in this family with the hope that our sons and daughters may smake better crops and live better lives. It is also the only school to oer a minor in Self-Actualization. “ere’s just something about CTU,” said Dean Howard Belmont. “People here just do a few things exceptionally well. Students at Canna- Town have experiemen- tal and adventurous palates that make them good chefs. We train the country’s most sought- aer botanists. We pump out the top video game testers, as well as professional game play- ers. CTU students are oen hired immediately aer school for jobs that require extensive sleep- ing and staring.” e school’s strongest suite is Art. “Over 25 of our students currently have work showing at the new Museum of Very High Art. How many universities can say that?” Last year the school made headlines when the Pizzacology depart- ment announced a new type of deep-dish pie with deep-fried crust. Professor to Present Key Controversial Findings Professor Randy Picard is presenting a lecture at CannaTown University next Tues, to defend his reasoning that all verbs in the English language can be replaced by either “purchase” or “traverse.”

Doomsday Marchers Downtown Encourage Repentance, Bud Donation to Doomsday Marchers Downtown

A group has been demonstrat- ing in downtown CannaTown this week, ustering passersby with doomsday chants and speaking in tongues. Citizens are urged to avoid the group at all costs, and not to accept invitations to match bowls. ey will not be matched, authorities say. “ese trouble-makers scream that the end is near, and to give them your bud,” said Earl Goodwin, Chief of Peace. “As far as we know, the end is not near.” “e important thing is to not encourage by paying them attention, discussing the end, or giving them cannabis.” re- iterated Goodwin. “I just want to say that we always welcome bud donations at the Depart- ment of Peace, 125 Sinsemilla, Suite B. We’re always grilling out.” e nay-sayers, nick-named by local shop-owners as the “Bum-Me Seven,” has been staging the camp-in since last ursday, when they arrived in a broken-down van. Although they have enough money to x the van, they’re trying to col- lect enough bud to last through summer of 2017 in their native home of Portage, Wisconsin. e Dept of Cannassimila- tion will soon oer them amnesty, a shower, and job through the city’s successful Work-to-Chief program, if they choose to stay. Otherwise, Goodwin noted, there would

come a ne line between the Bill of Rights, and disturbing the piece. “at huge glass bubbler in the town square is one of the greatest pieces ever constructed,” he said, tear- struck. “125 Sinsemilla, Suite B. We’re always grilling out.” he added. At the time of this report, civilians near the scene were somewhat, if not, not at all, rattled by the snores and groans coming from the “Bum-Me Seven,” who were strewn across their signs and picnic tables in sleeping bags. Authorities warned that the group makes it simple to donate bud, either in the huge onsite bucket, or, via swi mobile credit card transaction. “We promise to use the money solely on bud,” said ring-leader Harold Orlowski. “You have our word that it will not go towards birthday presents, groceries, rent, tuition, or anything of that nature.” Some in the neighborhood have still donated, warning or not. “I gave them my biggest nugget,” said a lovely little grandma named Maureen. “I thought about shushin’ em back, but heck, my stash will get me through the next decade!” Maureen agreed to consider further bud donation to the Department of Peace, and local CannaTown news corps.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation Well, it's that time again. Aer catching the last two of their three recent concerts in Chicago, I feel obligated to shout out the new King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, because hot damn did those shows not disappoint and neither does their new album. e Gizz crowd contains an increasing number of Dead and Phish heads since I last saw them back in 2019, and the Aussies have acknowledged becoming more aware of those jam legends and their fans latching on to

Portugal. e Man Chris Black Changed My Life It's been a wild ride for Portugal. e Man since they hit it global with "Feel it Still." Writing about Woodstock six years

ago, I called it "their most unabashedly pop album yet. Perhaps this sound will expose them to the larger audience they undoubtedly deserve." No one, and least of all PTM leader, John Gourley could have imagined the level of success the Alaska/Oregon band was about to stumble upon. Yet, I found the collective strength of the songs on Woodstock paling in comparison to every record since Church Mouth , their second release. Back then they were churning out a new LP every year until the shockingly long 23-month break before 2013's Evil Friends . And at the time, I thought that album represented a noticeable shi from the four prior. Now a half decade removed and in a world in which everyone knows at least one of their tunes, the ninth LP Chris Black Changed My Life muddies the waters of the group's real demarcation and serves as the bullseye in a Venn diagram of the previous three. It's a touch of everything but not enough of any one to completely stick the landing: the melodic sweetness that seems to come so naturally to Gourley; the hip-hop under- tones that Danger Mouse prompted while producing Evil Friends ; and the sampling that helped boost the band to new heights on Woodstock . Chris Black likely won't change listeners' lives the way he did Gourley's, but it's most certainly a welcome entry into our existence.

the Gizzverse as they themselves continue to take an increasingly exploratory route during their shows. But little of that is present on the pith- ily titled PetroDra- gonic Apocalypse;

or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation . Stylistically most similar to the thrash on Infest the Rats' Nest, their latest incorporates the proggier sides explored on Polygondwanaland to create a more diverse re- sult. And it's awesome. But the last three min- utes of PetroDragonic's closing "Flamethrow- er" sound as if Stu and co. have made the next step from Phish to Disco Biscuits. e band is promising yet another new album before the end of the year, one led by synthesizers, which means the delicious end to "Flamethrower" will likely segue into whatever track kicks o LP number 25. Sign me up right now. Listening Now: e Arcs' Electrophonic Chronic . It's another Dan Auerbach project, lied by the "supergroup" surrounding him, each with soul revival-leaning backgrounds.

Shredded Mango Habanero Sliders It’s time to slide into spring with savory slid- ers topped in a spicy tropical sauce. Ingredients 6 to 8 lbs Mushrooms - I used Lion’s Mane and Oyster Mushrooms from Fungolia Farms. e Mango Habanero sauce “Meat” from a whole fresh mango 3 habanero peppers, seeded 3 cups ketchup 3 tsp black pepper 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup infused honey - 1000mg active THC Directions Rinse and roast caps “down-ish” at 400° for 20 minutes. Shred into a bowl and transfer to a sauté pan with a little oil. Cook again until browned and crispy here and there. Set aside. Use a food processor to liquify the mango and peppers. en mix together all ingredi- ents except the THC honey. Heat on low in a small saucepan, constantly stirring as it will otherwise burn. Gradually, volume will reduce visibly 3 tsp onion powder 3 tsp garlic powder 1 cup apple cider vinegar by about 1/4 or so. Remove from heat and whisk in the infused honey. Allow to cool and keep in fridge until ready to use. Serve up the sautéed mushrooms on slider rolls with one tablespoon sauce each, or ad- just dosage to your liking. Each tablespoon of sauce has just over 20mg THC and about 48 servings at that.
